Disability, Life and AD&D Insurance
Life Insurance
Employees are automatically covered by Life Insurance and Accidental Disability & Dismemberment (AD&D) coverage starting with the first day of work. The Life Insurance benefit is equal to two times annual base pay, up to $500,000 coverage. Employees may purchase additional coverage for themselves, spouses and children at group rates.
Voluntary Supplement Life Insurance
In addition to the life insurance policy provided by the Company, employees may choose to purchase additional life insurance for themselves, and their spouse or children from one to five times their annual base salary. The supplemental life insurance is available for purchase through CIGNA at reasonable group rates and may be continued upon termination of employment.
Disability Insurance
After 1 year of service, employees are automatically eligible for Short Term and Long Term Disability Insurance paid for by the Company.
Short Term Disability
After 1 year of service, if an employee must be absent due to illness or injury, up to 26 weeks at 66 2/3% of wages may be available.
Long Term Disability
After 1 year of service, the plan provides 60% of base pay if a disability lasts longer than 6 months. In cases of total disability, the plan may pay until you are eligible to draw retirement benefits.
Long Term Care Insurance
Long-Term Care Insurance is available for employees to purchase. This plan is designed to cover custodial care for people who are unable to perform activities of daily living. Employees are able to purchase the insurance at group rates through Unum and during the first 30 days of employment, employees are eligible regardless of health history.
